of Commerce.
Auburn, AL—HDI Solutions, Inc. (HDI) and Health Information Designs, Inc. (HID) were presented
with the Auburn Chamber of Commerce’s Eagle Award at the Chamber’s Annual Meeting on January 25. The
Eagle Award is presented by the Auburn Chamber of Commerce in recognition for outstanding achievement
in economic development and employment opportunities, beautification, and community service. HDI and HID
were cited for expansion that will add more than 150 new jobs in Auburn and the surrounding area. Major
contracts awarded by the states of Alabama, Mississippi, and Texas during 2006 will double HDI’s work force
with the addition of 100-120 data entry jobs in Auburn and 25-30 positions in Tallapoosa County. Once the
expansion is complete, HDI will employ 300 individuals working in four Auburn locations as well as in
offices around the country. HDI recently purchased a new facility on Industry Drive to accommodate
its expansion. The new facility will house HDI and HID’s corporate offices as well as its health benefits
services. Two buildings on Pumphrey Drive will contain offices for project management, data entry,
software development, records administration, and document management services. In addition, HDI maintains
a facility in Notasulga that handles its document archiving, scanning, retrieval and microfilming services.
HDI’s President and CEO, Ty Gibson, Ph.D., believes that Auburn is an outstanding area for the growth of
high technology industries. “The combination of a skilled labor pool, plus the intellectual and creative
talent offered by a university community has allowed HDI and HID to recruit talented individuals who
create innovative and cost effective information solutions for our clients.”
